Leading by example

For those who couldn't make last night here are the notes. We started to unpack what Chris spoke to us about in May about being Commited and leading by example. We focused on the verse Joshua 24:15 and then looked at the "how of service" and the impacts on our lives. We used Joshua 24:14 as our springboard.
We looked at a Biblical definition regarding the fear of God and then listed examples of people in the Bible. We had discussion and encouragement around what Godly fear can produce in us and how we live that out in our lives looking at the other points on the notes sheet, serving wholeheartedly with all sincerity and genuineness to God's word, faith and believers love. We talked around the characteristics of wholehearted service and encouraged each other in this area. We then went onto talk around the 3rd point of putting away the gods, learning from the past and being responsible for our own spirituality and walk with God.
We finished on the note that any service costs and should be viewed in the light of eternity.

We will continue this study in our next session in the Autumn and will look at being contextual and relevant (point 2 on the notes).
